Chakras are energy centers within the body that reflect our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. When balanced, they allow energy to move freely throughout the body, contributing to health and harmony. When blocked or imbalanced, they can lead to emotional distress or physical symptoms.


🌈 The 7 Major Chakras

Each chakra is associated with a different part of the body, color, age range, element, and emotional theme. Below is an overview of each one — what it governs, what imbalance might look like, and affirmations to use in healing work.


🔴 Root Chakra (Muladhara)

Location: Base of the spine

Color: Red

Element: Earth

Theme: Safety, stability, survival

Affirmations: “I am,” “I belong,” “I am safe”

When balanced: You feel grounded, secure, and connected.

When blocked: Fear, anxiety, insecurity, instability, fatigue, joint pain, lower back pain, and issues with legs or feet.

Supports: Spine, bones, feet, legs, adrenals

Developmental Stage: Birth to age 7


🟠 Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

Location: Lower abdomen, womb, pelvis

Color: Orange

Element: Water

Theme: Creativity, sensuality, emotions

Affirmations: “I feel,” “I enjoy,” “I am creative”

When balanced: Creativity, pleasure, emotional flow, intimacy

When blocked: Boredom, guilt, sexual issues, emotional numbness, bladder or reproductive issues

Supports: Reproductive organs, kidneys, bladder, hips, lower back

Developmental Stage: Ages 8–14


🟡 Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

Location: Upper abdomen/stomach

Color: Yellow

Element: Fire

Theme: Personal power, self-worth, transformation

Affirmations: “I can,” “I am confident,” “I take action”

When balanced: Self-confidence, motivation, purpose, healthy boundaries

When blocked: Digestive issues, frustration, powerlessness, low self-esteem

Supports: Stomach, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, adrenals

Developmental Stage: Ages 15–21


💚 Heart Chakra (Anahata)

Location: Center of chest

Color: Green

Element: Air

Theme: Love, compassion, connection

Affirmations: “I love,” “I forgive,” “I am open”

When balanced: Love, empathy, emotional balance, healthy relationships

When blocked: Judgment, resentment, grief, lung or heart conditions

Supports: Heart, lungs, thymus, arms, hands

Developmental Stage: Ages 21–28


🔵 Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

Location: Throat

Color: Blue

Element: Ether/Sound

Theme: Communication, truth, expression

Affirmations: “I speak,” “I express,” “I am heard”

When balanced: Honest communication, clear expression, creativity

When blocked: Thyroid issues, sore throat, creative blocks, fear of speaking

Supports: Throat, neck, jaw, teeth, mouth, thyroid

Developmental Stage: Ages 29–35


🟣 Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

Location: Between the eyebrows

Color: Indigo

Element: Light

Theme: Intuition, insight, clarity

Affirmations: “I see,” “I know,” “I trust my inner wisdom”

When balanced: Intuition, focus, insight, imagination

When blocked: Headaches, brain fog, sinus issues, disconnection from intuition

Supports: Brain, eyes, ears, pineal gland

Developmental Stage: Ages 36–42


⚪️ Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

Location: Top of the head

Color: Violet or White

Element: Consciousness

Theme: Spirituality, divine connection

Affirmations: “I am,” “I understand,” “I trust the universe”

When balanced: Connection to higher self, clarity, inner peace

When blocked: Apathy, disconnection, cynicism, spiritual crisis

Supports: Nervous system, pineal gland, muscular system, skin

Developmental Stage: Ages 43–49
